Rules has not decided although I prefer rotisserie (roto).

There are 3 main types of scoring in Yahoo fantasy basketball. Rotisserie (Roto), Head-to-Head (H2H), and Points Scored (PS).

Based solely on my experience, I feel that Roto is easier and fairer for everyone. To win a Roto league players, in general, just have to draft the best possible NBA player available during the draft, and complete some trades and add/drop to fine tune a team.

H2H, on the other hand, requires players to analyse week-by-week plays and even month-by-month plays, hence implement different strategies. This actually requires players to complete more adds / drops, based on players' analysis, to maximum advantage of one team throughout that week or that month. It is not only difficult but becomes a bit unfair to those who cannot spend that much time in the game.

PS is hard to maintain fairness unless we can determine a scoring categories with supreme balance. Otherwise, some categories will be more important than the others hence some NBA players will be more effective than the rest. I believe this hurts the ultimate goal of building the best, or in other words most balanced, team just like in the real world.

u can do your own draft ranking.. list, like whom you wanna draft first, ...ect.. make sure, you are getting your roster balance. like having C. F. PF. SF. G .SG... all, UTL spot for all players, but C spot only for C player, for instance, you having too many C , & no PG ,, might be a big problem

I will probably cut the util spot and bench spot to one respectively.

Draft method will be discussed after the type of scoring for our league is decided. Currently we are using autopick draft which means a draft will be carried automatically by Yahoo. Hence a fixed date of the draft will be announced by the commissioner here, and by that date you should have your pre-ranking ready. The draft will take place like the one in real NBA. But the sequence of each team in the draft will be determined (randomly) by Yahoo. Whoever picks first in one round will pick last in the following round, and vice versa, to maintain fairness. The highest positioned NBA player still available (not picked) in the pre-ranking of each team will be picked when it comes to that team's turn.

For me i will always put in the order of best players to worst players in our scoring categories system. However better-than-average players in one position, such as center (C) is more difficult to get than the others, such as shooting guard, throughout the season so you should put this into consideration when you edit your pre-ranking.

遊戲的玩法就跟選秀一樣，第一輪的第一順位會在第二輪成為第十二順位，這樣依次選擇球員，總共可以選13名球員，所以共有13位球員x玩家會被選走，我們可以知道NBA數的出來的頂級明星球員大概第一輪就會被選光了，那也是不得不的選擇，挑就挑龍頭，像是目前聯盟中最有名的LeBron James，Dwyane Wade，Christ Paul…等等球星，選一個可以抵兩至三個普通球員。

再談談這遊戲要比的是甚麼，總共要比的有九項數據，命中率。罰球命中次數。三分球命中次數。得分。籃板。助攻。抄截。火鍋及失誤，除了失誤其餘項目都越高越好，這也是大家為何會先挑明星級球員了。每個項目採排名制，譬如命中率這項如果是所有12位經理人最高的，將可以得到12分，最低的就是1分。最讓人頭痛的問題就是陣中大將受傷必須坐冷板凳場邊觀戰，再來就是年紀問題，超過32歲體力恐怕也會隨著數據走下坡，年輕的球員好處是體力佳，耐操。彈力棒，但是常常會有太衝動外加腦充血的失誤，失誤恐怕會暴增，所以該如何拿捏得花一番功夫。

球季中間經理人可以互相交易球員，或是從未被選到的球員中挑選潛力球員，刪除表現不佳的球員，球季過三分之二排名大致上就不會有太大變動了，前幾名的競爭會比較激烈，甚至到最後幾場比賽才會分出勝負，尤其有那種拉尾盤的球員更是會讓人有意想不到的結果......

This is only a game，或許這是唯一安慰自己的想法，反正第一名也沒獎賞，只有成就感的樂趣而已s（酸葡萄）。對運動有興趣的朋友也可以試試身手，挑球員絕對會讓人有一堆想法跑出來，到底是照著自我感覺良好的刻版印象在挑球員，還是有新的顛覆的想法，搞怪一下也不錯。

I have set a deadline of 13 Oct for new application. After the deadline, I will adjust the roster positions so that there will be 12-14 drafted, or say selected, NBA players on each team. Among those roster positions, 9 to 12 will be scoring positions and 2 to 3 will be bench (non-scoring) positions. I should be able to make the final change by 14 Oct hence everyone will have about 2 weeks to adjust their pre-draft ranking and/or draft strategies accordingly.

For the draft, If most of us are happy i will conduct a live draft. I propose 28 Oct 2013 Sunday 1300 HKT for now, it will be the closest Sunday to the upcoming season's tip off. I will stick with autopick draft if live draft is not preferred but the aforementioned date and time will remain. Please discuss and show your intention.

我用draft list所以我唔會揀LBJ做第一,不過人手draft都ok既...

其實你set draft ranking list set得好,成積不會太差
我以前玩都是用ranking list,每次都有Top 4

我用draft list所以我唔會揀LBJ做第一,不過人手draft都ok既...
KD就唔會太早pic ...

Honestly, if everyone participating live draft was well prepared, it would make great difference to the team between manually selected player and AI selected players, especially towards end of the draft. For instance, When AI select utility or bench players, AI will not consider the position eligibility of the players that your team already have, or the proneness of a long break of the players due to injury, suspension, or age etc. in your team. And it might result with a team with loads of players heavy in one position hence lower flexibility of a team.

MVP most likely is either LBJ or KD, who should be the first two picks. I suggest using 6th man of the year instead.

Very good suggestion. We can also consider player with most 3pt, steals, assists, blocks, highest FT%, FG%.

Alright, I am glad that we have come to a decision on draft time, and our league is almost ready. What makes me thankful is the response of the manager. Majority of the managers have responsed to the questions, of them they responded quickly, and some of them have added excellent suggestions and ideas. Changes explained:

- Draft time -> Sat 27 Oct 2200 HKT -> 7 out of 10 managers preferred this.
- Max team -> 10 -> no more joining!
- Trade deadline -> NO -> trade as many as you want throughout the season!
- Waiver -> FAAB w/ Continual rolling list tiebreak -> blind bid system + original rolling list on tiebreak -> each manager have same fixed amount of bidding money, interested managers place blind bid on a wavier player, highest bid will win and the bidding money will be deducted from total bidding money of the winning team. In the event of the same bidding amount among two or more bids (tie break), the system will follow continual rolling list, which means the earlier the team draft, the lower the position on the list. And a team will goto bottom of the list every time a team win the waiver addition.
- Post Draft Players -> Free agent -> Players in the wire are better than the ones you have just drafted? Grab him immediately when the draft ends.
- Roster Positions ->Ccut one bench position -> to make total number of players among teams 120 -> to maintain good dynamic in the wire.

Of course doing live draft is way better than the ranking list. However, I was never able to do that....

That's why I have to make a long ranking list (~150-200 players, depends on no. of teams) and have a good strategy to make sure I can get good players from all positions.
Kind of fun, but I still want to to do live drafts if possible. lol

By the way, I also suggest you do prizes for getting 6th man instead of MVP since there are not much choice for MVP.
prize for MVP in team=prize for who are lucky enough to be 1st or 2nd pick.

Yeah, but only in the most ideal scenario. In most cases, a well prepared pre-ranking list will do better than a manager manually draft affected by with depth of preparation, peer pressure, time constraint etc...I believe a well prepared list is necessary in a live draft. It is easy to tell which available player is better in first few rounds, but it's getting more difficult as you go further...My deep respect to your long ranking list! I often ranked 1-100.
