【影片簡介】：《流言終結者》（MythBusters）是一個美國的科普電視節目，在Discovery探索頻道播出。由特效專家亞當·沙維奇（Adam Savage）和傑米·海納曼（Jamie Hyneman）主持，他們利用自身的專業和技巧，針對各種廣為流傳的謠言和都市傳奇進行實驗。節目由羅柏·李（Robert Lee）擔任旁白，主要在舊金山灣區錄影。

從2002年以來播出的100集裡，該片為我們檢驗了300多個流言，它們或是得到了證實、有可能或是被徹底揭穿，當然也有一些還不能肯定。為了揭示真相，流言終結者們把許多東西炸毀、打爆或扔到水裡，其中包括熱水器還有一輛汽車（是該節目一位年輕觀眾的父母的）。不過《流言終結者》不是專門搞破壞的——這是他們的工作需要。雖然不是每次實驗都能成功，但傑米、亞當和制作小組堅持用科學的方法，進行合理的實驗。他們最初的想法就是寓教於樂——把科學和娛樂結合起來。

　　後來終結流言竟大受歡迎。在世界各地《流言終結者》每周有1000多萬觀眾收看，迅速成為探索頻道收視率最高的節目。一般每集會有一個專題，解決 2～4個相關的流言。《流言終結者》還有一些主題節目，如和熱門電影相關的流言：《加勒比海盜》秀、《大白鯊》（Jaws）秀，以及觀眾推薦的實驗。節目流行以後，兩位主持人甚至在熱門的推理情節劇《犯罪現場調查》（CSI：Crime Scene Investigation）中客串表演。
