Sometimes typhoon does killed many people in Taiwan. There's one right now, may issued the land warning at 8pm....Typhoon will caused flood and landslide.....

Days after experiencing their biggest earthquake in 70 years, seven states in the region, including New York, have declared a state of emergency to allow urgent access to rescue resources. Winds of up to 180 km/h are projected to lash many residential areas, while up to 30 cm of rain is expected to be dumped on several major cities, including New York.

New York was preparing for its first hurricane since Gloria in 1985. Officials in Washington, D.C. handed out sandbags and warned residents to expect extensive power blackouts.

Announcing that the 250,000 residents of New York City's low-lying coastal areas must leave as soon as possible, Michael Bloomberg, the mayor, said: "Nature is a force more powerful than any of us."
