[新聞] MU Transfer Rumours: June 07

The quickfire triple move for Anderson, Nani and Owen Hargreaves massively reinforced United's squad within a fortnight of the 2006/07 season ending - but will it be United's final piece of business?

Despite the huge outlay for the trio - reported to be in the region of £50million - David Gill has suggested that there may still be more transfer business this summer, although perhaps not on the same scale.

The tabloids have partially taken heed, but the main focus of their attention - a shock £8m move for Bolton's Nicolas Anelka - has been scuppered as both clubs have ruled out any deal to bring the former Real Madrid and Arsenal forward to Old Trafford.

However, with United's defence and midfield now well stocked, the speculation for the remainder of the summer is still likely to centre around a move for a striker.

Samuel Eto'o, Dimitar Berbatov and Fernando Torres continue to be linked with Old Trafford, but sizeable fees would seemingly make a move unlikely, unless Sir Alex Ferguson raises funds through selling members of his current squad.

Alan Smith and Louis Saha have both been linked with Tottenham, and have been put forward by the tabloids in a mooted swap deal for Berbatov, while Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are said to be battling it out for Gabriel Heinze's signature.
