BABEL: WE HAVE TO WIN

Ryan Babel admits Liverpool cannot afford to go into the international break on the back of a defeat to Spurs.

The winger knows it will be a long two weeks if the result doesn't go our way on Sunday.

Equally important, he says, is the players' desire to put on a show for the fans after a disappointing display against Marseille.

"We have another international break after Sunday so it is a big match for us," said Babel.

"We have to win. We have two weeks without a match after Tottenham. That's why it is so important.

"We are hoping to have a good game and hope the crowd has confidence in us again. But it is important to get a result."

The Dutch international admits the club's form has dipped after a fantastic start to the campaign, but even though Arsenal have opened up a four-point gap at the top, Babel thinks it's too early to start panicking about our title rivals.

"Our form in the league has been better than Europe, but even in the league we have still dropped silly points," he explained.

"We drew at Portsmouth, although Portsmouth are a very good team, and we drew with Birmingham. We have to start winning those type of games.

"We can get better. Hopefully, that will happen on Sunday.

"Arsenal have made a great start but we will see if they can keep it going because they have a lot of young players and normally with young players it can fade out.

"But it's important we keep the pressure on them."
