A 13-year-old who lost a leg to cancer will  get a new life-changing prosthetic limb from Britain's biggest-ever lottery jackpot  winners.

Despite undergoing gruelling chemotherapy the brave 13-year-old had his  left leg amputated below the knee in March last year.

He was diagnosed with the rare and aggressive  cancer called Ewings Sarcoma, which affects fewer than 30 children a year, in  October 2010.

The number of foreign tourists visiting London has fallen by two-thirds during the Olympics in a trend businesses are blaming on warnings of traffic chaos and overpriced accommodation.

The Games have helped pull some 100,000 visitors into the capital from overseas, with sports fans eager to watch global superstars such as sprinter Usain Bolt and basketball player LeBron James in action.公仔箱論壇( n$ f) {3 v: e$ m5 I" J

But this figure is well below the 300,000 tourists who would be expected to visit the city in a typical summer, and the Government was today facing accusations that it had 'overhyped' the benefits of the Games.

Businesses based near the Olympic sailing venues of Weymouth and Portland, in Dorset, have seen a similar trend, with some claiming the current summer tourist season is the worst in half a century.

'Many Olympic visitors think it is going to be crowded and potentially too pricey.

'The type of overseas visitors who normally come are staying away and the visitors who do come tend to be Olympics-focused and may not go to galleries, cathedrals and museums.'

Mr Donoghue added that the drop in foreign visitors could benefit Britons who want to see attractions which are normally busier.

'The good news for Brits is there has never has been a better time to visit an attraction in London,' he said.

'There are fewer queues, tickets are guaranteed and many of the attractions have longer opening hours.'

WESTFIELD'S OLYMPIC BOOM
While customers have deserted west and central London, a shopping mall in the east of the city is enjoying an Olympic boom.

The 1.9million sq ft Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, near the Olympic Stadium, has attracted thousands of competitors, volunteers and spectators from across the globe.公仔箱論壇/ @4 y% x/ D( {/ q' g9 W0 [0 v

Westfield also has a mall in Shepherd's Bush, west London.

The number of shoppers visiting the West End on Saturday was down nearly 12 per cent compared to last year.

It was a magical moment at the Olympic Games  opening ceremony.
The audience seemed to disappear - only to be  replaced by a giant video screen engulfing the whole arena.

During the ceremony, the global television  audience watched as it displayed everything from a giant Union Flag to  undulating 'waves'.

The firm behind the images that were  displayed, Crystal CG, created a range of graphics  including a computer  generated image of the birth of the internet.
Crystal CG said this was the first time the  Pixel Tablets have been used on such a large scale.

'No longer limited by large flat screens, we  were presented with the  challenge of creating animations to bring the stage and  the spectators  together.

Tait Technologies, which made the paddles,  said the system required 370km of cabling.

The first tests were performed in the Olympic  Stadium on 10th July and a  final test run was done at the dress rehearsals last  week.
Over  70 minutes of animations were all  custom-designed for the concave, bowl  shape of the 360˚ screen, and the company  claims that requests for  additional content were landing in the creative team’s  inboxes up to the last minute.公仔箱論壇5 P- ~( j% h/ b9 T1 v

The audience at the Olympics closing ceremony  were treated to a taste of Britain's comedy heritage tonight when Monty Python  star Eric Idle appeared onstage.

The actor led the 80,000-strong crowd through  a singalong rendition of Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, while a bizarre  troupe of dancers performed around him.

After  the  traditional men's marathon victory ceremony, the 70,000 volunteer  Games Makers  were honoured with a shower of petals before darkness and  silence  descended.

The  showcase of British music continued with the voice of Freddie Mercury singing  Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

George  Michael came in singing his 1990s anthem Freedom '90 before segueing into his  latest record White Light.

One  of the most spectacular images from  the night was during a performance of  Freedom by George Michael in which the title of the song flashed up in huge  white letters.

Stephen Daldry, the executive producer of all  London 2012's opening and closing ceremonies, described the technology created  by the British firm Crystal CG as 'extraordinary'.

He said it is 'a unique piece of  technological innovation'.

A total of 27 animated sequences, lasting 75  minutes, were created for the closing ceremony, using 634,500 individual LED  pixels that together created what is believed to be the largest video  screen.公仔箱論壇% a- Y& ^, [; z5 b8 _
