Just because it's meant toforeshadow future design themes, that doesn't mean it's not green.After all, this is Geneva and we're all living in the 21st century.That means its power train consists of a 272-horse V6 connected to a109-horsepower electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery that canbe recharged at home (or at those recharging stations all these otherplug-ins use). Much like other electric motors, output here has beenlimited; actual output is around 136 horsepower.

Itcan run for 30 km on electric power alone and theoretically expends2.9L/100km (or returns 81 mpg US, take your pick) while releasing just69g/km of CO2. In electric mode it can even reach 120 km/h, which isgood to know if this type of power train is going into seriesproduction for the next S-Class.

There'seven a "Range on Map" function, which seems to be the hot new techacross the board this year (for those unfamiliar with it, it uses thenavigation system to show exactly how far you can travel given existingroads).
