The real Ice Queen: Woman, 32, dedicates her entire life to capturing sublime beauty of glaciers (but will never succeed because they keep melting!)

These stunning images are the work of the real-life 'Ice Queen', photographer Marketa Kalvachova.

The 32-year-old from the Czech Republic has devoted her life to capturing the beauty of the majestic glaciers found in Iceland and Greenland.

While there may be a limited supply of glaciers, the visionary photographer says her mission will never be complete thanks to the constantly changing nature of the landscape.

'I love the many different shades of blue you can find when you look harder,' Ms Kalvachova says. 'The lagoons and waterfalls make for out of this world pictures and the more you see the more breathtaking they become.'

Stunning: Marketa Kalvachova has devoted her life to photographing Iceland's beautiful glaciers

Landscape: This floe in eastern Greenland shows that animal life can co-exist with the glaciers

Cave: The glaciers can be as spectacular from the inside as they are outside, as this photograph of Solheimajokull proves

Active: The Icelandic landscape may seem dead but it can in fact be vividly alive with geological activity

Mission: Ms Kalvachova, pictured, moved from Eastern Europe to Iceland in 2006

Cavernous: The 32-year-old from the Czech Republic has lived in Iceland with her family for the past seven years

Protean: Ms Kalvachova says her mission will never be complete because the landscape is constantly shifting

Ethereal: The near-deserted landscapes of Iceland and Greenland are perfect for a photographer interested in the natural world

Through the keyhole: An intimate yet spectacular look out at the Solheimajokull glacier in Iceland

Glowing: The visionary photographs capture the way the light plays on the ice in a unique way

Craggy: Some of the more jagged glaciers almost seem to have the appearance of alpine mountains

Treacherous: This photograph shows the perilous journey undertaken by hardy seafarers between glaciers

Waterfall: Ms Kalvachova specialises in unusual formations which dot the Arctic and North Atlantic landscape

Isolated: A single iceberg floats along the shore line but does not escape the photographer's gaze

Thaw: Even freezing areas likes Sermilik in Greenland are not entirely covered with ice all the time

Sunrise: Ms Kalvachova and her partner conduct tours of icy regions to enable others to see the spectacular landscape for themselves

Heart-shaped: The photographer captured this romantic picture by chance in Iceland

Contrast: Ms Kalvachova's photographic tricks make the colour of the glacier stand out against the background of the sky

Light relief: This icy behemoth has by chance melted into the chap of an old man's profile

Remote: But some brave souls are happy to live in the shadow of the ice

Adventurous: This photograph shows the lengths that Ms Kalvachova will go to in order to get the perfect shot

Shore: Ice floes float in the water off the coast of Greenland as hills stand in the background bare of ice

Artistic: Some of the ice formations need no help to be fashioned into aesthetically pleasing shapes

Interests: The photographer enjoys taking pictures of phenomena such as the Northern Lights as well as glaciers

Panorama: The scene at the shore of Kulusuk in eastern Greenland

透過鏡頭下的風景真是壯觀漂亮

趁现在还能看到冰川就赶快多记录一些吧,等到全化了以后,就没得拍了。
