This is a hard question, both canon & nikon produce very good camera equipments.  All camera lens are polished in the same way, basically polished by robots.  Therefore, not much difference.  I uses Nikon but once want to sell all my equipment & go for Canon, the reason for that is Canon always make the same lens in a better range.  I remember when I bought my Nikon AFS 17-35 f2.8 and canon have something like 16-35 or something like that just can't remember.  BUT canon lens seems to cost more !!!  The beauty of Nikon is the auto lens can be used on manual body :D
