[資訊] Mini Cooper Convertible Breaks Cover Before Detroit Debut in January

It's taken Mini quite some time to release their updated Cooper Convertible. The hardtop's refresh happened in 2007, but the cabriolet was left behind. Sure, a special edition or two were made to hold people's interest, but now we have official details and images of the 2009 Cooper Convertible, set to debut in January at the North American International Auto Show.
Mechanically, there isn't a whole lot of difference between thecabriolet and the hardtop Coopers. The same 1.6-liter engines (innormally-aspirated and turbocharged forms) are used, producing 118 and172 horsepower respectively. Pop-up roll bars replace the fixed unitsof the old car and the fold-down tailgate hinges have moved to theinside, cleaning up the rear end a bit. The roof mechanism can beoperated at speeds up to twenty miles per hour and the roof takes justfifteen seconds to disappear. The top's sunroof feature can be used atspeeds up to sixty miles per hour, too.
Pricing is set at $24,550 for the Cooper Convertible and $27,550 forthe Cooper S Convertible. The new drop-top Mini will hit showrooms atthe end of March 2009. Click through the post for the full pressrelease.
