Despite the prominence of punk rock during the band's early years, the band's stripped-down sound contrasted with punk, demonstrating a more "rootsy" influence that emerged out of pub rock. Many of Dire Straits' compositions were melancholic. % }5 S! B+ v2 ?! G) s公仔箱論壇公仔箱論壇0 P& |9 n5 {( K

Dire Straits' career spanned 18 years. There were several changes in personnel over that period, leaving Mark Knopfler and John Illsley as the only two original band mates who had remained throughout the band's career. Dire Straits disbanded in 1995 when Mark Knopfler launched his career full time as a solo artist. ; x8 u# n: M3 M5 \www.tvboxnow.com , i# N5 B; r9 `/ E2 eTVBNOW 含有熱門話題，最新最快電視，軟體，遊戲，電影，動漫及日常生活及興趣交流等資訊。公仔箱論壇1 ?- M/ m1 C5 v/ }* W Sultans of Swing: The Very Best of Dire Straits" z* _0 l6 z: b% m Z
